A bickering democracy

Political adventurism may just be an unavoidable ruckus arising out of ‘organic democratic growth’ the country is underway as Judiciary, Parliament and Media grapple with their ‘newly-felt’ responsibilities, marking their territories in the domain of governance as they move ahead.

The President finding himself meandering in a pool of conspiracies, talking of dangers from “undemocratic forces”, threatening the use of “Sindh card” and the latest vote of confidence passed by the Provincial Assemblies of NWFP, Sindh and Balochistan in his favor are but reflexes to his being politically marooned. Reflexes that are being matched by equally poised, careful and calculated opposition, an activity that is being thoroughly analyzed by a very cautious Media.

Political scandalism, distrust and insecurity within the coalition parties, too, is fluttering out of the NRO closet with the issue of 17th amendment dangling far too long for the forbearance of the aspirants of democracy.
