Pakistan releases 17 Indian prisoners

LAHORE: Seventeen Indian prisoners who were serving sentence in various prisons across Pakistan were handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border on Wednesday.

They were arrested for overstaying, for not having proper documentation and for crossing the border illegally.

Speaking to media representatives, the released men said they were happy to go back to their country and that they were not mistreated by Pakistani authorities. – DawnNews

    Release of my son Sikandar-e-Azam Sani s/o Muhammad Khalid Butt who has completed his 3-year jail term on 30th June, 2011 is still confined in the central jail kot bhalwal Jammu. His national status has already been confirmed by the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan and communicated to the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi. PHC is supposed to prepare his emergency travel certificate.
