Gun men waiting in ambush attacked a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricket team to Gadafi Stadium.
The bus which few meters from it’s destination was attacked when it reached Liberty Market (a central and busy area of Lahore) round about. A heavy police contingent was escorting this bus to ensure safety of the visiting team.
All seven killed were Pakistan Police officers and security guards who died in the line of duty. Six people from Sri Lankan team were also injured. Nature and intensity of the injuries is yet unknown.
