Pakistan: Powerful bombblast in Lahore police headquarter

A powerful bomb blast has rocked the city of Lahore. The attack was carried out on Police headquarter which has been almost completely destroyed. Another office of Rescue 15 has also been destroyed.

There was intermittent firing whch was followed a bombblast. More firing was heard for another 15 minutes after the blast. The area where this horrific incident occurred is a heavily populated area and some very senior police officials sit the attacked police building.

It is being reported that over 15 people have died and 125 people seriously injured. This number is expected to rise dramatically. Many children who were taking their final term school examinations have also been killed.

Gunshots also heard in the area after
the blast. The windowpanes of nearby buildings have also shattered in the blast
and many 15 vehicles have been destroyed. The entire building of 15 has
reportedly collapsed in the blast. Security forces have cordoned off the area
and shifted injured and bodies to hospitals. Emergency has been announced in
local hospitals.

Security forces have recovered one landmine, one suicide jacket and two hand grenades from the location. Two militants have also been arrested but their nationality has not been disclosed.

Rescue teams are still removing rubble and debris to search for survivors, injured and dead bodies.
